February’s a little early for ducklings to be out, but this determined duck mom in Germany was determined to continue life-as-usual in the below-freezing temperatures. Unfortunately, the best shelter she could find was beneath an exposed AC unit—okay for an adult duck, not so good for fragile newborns!

Thanks to brave animal rescuer Stefan Bröckling, they’ll wait out the winter warm and snug inside their new heated home!
